This year the Picton Maritime Festival was held over 2 days on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 January.

Friday was a static display day only, with 19 boats on display. There were two cruise ships in port and we had some very interested punters both from around the world and NZ.  Saturday was the same static display less the five boats giving rides to the public.

Once again the rides proved popular with many customers returning from previous years, although passenger numbers were down on last year. It was good to have the inside of the floater this year, making for easier loading and unloading passengers.  As always the the steam boat was in high demand with prospective passengers prepared to wait for space.

Thanks to those who provided boats, the skippers for the rides, the ladies fitting life jackets, and all others that were available on the days.

Both days gave us cooler weather with a south easterly breeze, making the harbour calm, which was excellent for the boat rides.
