PICTON MARITIME FESTIVAL

Festival day dawned fine and hot.  Once again our members rose to the occasion and showcased the club, both on and off the water, offering free rides for the public and, dinghies on swuKOmNPn_UAJwil8vBA-j19kUhzQz5ErK3Q3CwBJtatic display. The dinghy rides are always very popular with the public with many older people commenting about their boating experiences as children, and the younger generation enjoying the old fashioned fantasy.

The jetty crew do a stirling job fitting life jackets and marshalling, as many express an interest in a particular boat.  It was great to have Rick on the job with ‘India’ giving steamboat rides which are always very popular with the punters.5LZamqXXAuNMM99tcy21Hsm4CBZUT_ddxBFYwhWx

The skippers take pride in showing off their beloved craft, taking a turn around Picton Harbour and through the marina.  This also allows them to pass on some road rule information to passengers. Children are always amazed that there are rules of the road for the water.93Xei08nZPvKXSUtnBovrCtNDqm7WpGgbwZFNISV

The static display is always of interest to both young and old, once again, many reminiscing about their younger days.  The team in the information tent are always kept busy with people passing comments and enquiries.
