IMPROMTU TWILIGHT RUN

Having watched the weather forecasts for a while we decided to have an ‘impromptu midweek on Wednesday evening, 22 November, we held an impromptu run out of Waikawa Bay with 10 keen members on board the club boats, ‘Dudley Docker ‘and Inverie’, plus Bill and Mary’s ‘Mystery’, and while the summer sea breeze made it a bit splashy to go any further than Sunshine Bay we all had fun doing circuits around most of the moored boats in the bays on the way back not to mention the odd ‘hide and seek’ when circling some of the vessels.

After trailering the dinghies we retired to the clubrooms for a fish and chips tea and a general natter about the world and maritime things in general and I hear that those who were on the run were so impressed with the evening that another will be held in the very near future so watch this space, and there is no truth in the rumour that I was looking for a beach to run ‘Dudley’ up on because we all had to put our feet up on the seats to keep them dry, but I must admit that I was mighty pleased when the automatic float switch decided to un-stick and pump us out!
