WAIRAU RIVER RUN

0LqRZJsE35Eby_O4jBUC4wPivRFDpo9FMTrItrhLOur recent run on the Wairau River Feb 6th was very pleasantCpm8ghwLlNbh0JeSXKG1JjHxHwmjoZ9Y8DAn1iRM.   A fleet of 9 boats, 17 crew. The launching at Blenheim Rowing Club went well and we headed up stream with the tide led by Roger Randall in ‘Riverdance “.  We got up to the confluence of Spring Creek and the Wairau. We stopped for lunch on a nice flat landing above the bridge where there are willows for shade.  Not too bad at all. After lunch we took a run downstream to theconfluence of Roses Overflow. Although breezy, the river is quite sheltered on the upper reaches by the banks and willows.
